"Gentle Methods Produce Positive Results"
EXPERIENCE THE DIXIE DIFFERENCE!
What is DIXIE'S Instructors Why Animal instead of Dog Training? Facilities Who Is Dixie?
What is DIXIE’S Animal Training?
DIXIE’S
Animal Training grew from a
previously well known dog-training business, Puppy Pals, which first opened in
1990.
Puppy Pals was expanded into DIXIE’S Animal Training when the services
they offered expanded way beyond puppy training
classes!
DIXIE’S Animal Training
offers the widest range of
training imaginable.
Year-round group and individual classes are available in:
|
·
Puppy kindergarten · Adult obedience · Rally · Agility |
·
Tracking · Sheep herding · Canine Good Citizen (CGC) · Canine musical freestyle (aka Doggie Dancing) |
Private lessons are also available for Service Dog training and dogs suffering from behavioral problems such as shyness, fearfulness, fear aggression, dog aggression, nervousness, separation anxiety and many other debilitating issues.
DIXIE’S uses gentle dog training techniques – specifically, behavioral modification through operant conditioning and positive reinforcement, also known as clicker training. There are no choke collars – dogs are taught to respond because they want to please their people!
DIXIE'S Animal Training
is once again leading the pack by offering the most up-to-date training methods
and facilities.
It's not just good training.
“It's a whole new way of doing dog
school!”
DIXIE’s instructors are
Jane
Wittstock, DVM, and Terri Wilson. Together they have 70+ years of dog training
experience.
Dr. Wittstock is a licensed veterinarian and member of The American Veterinary
Society of Animal Behavior.
Ms. Wilson has more than 25 years of dog training experience, as well as 15+
years in private canine behavioral counseling.
Why Is It Called DIXIE’S Animal Training instead of DIXIE’s Dog Training?
Because at DIXIE’S, we
train other species than just dogs! Private classes are available for
training other species.
Dr. Wittstock and Ms. Wilson have used these same gentle techniques to
train:
