Bob and Marian Bailey - the grandparents of modern day operant conditioning. (Marian Baily, Ph.D was B.F. Skinner's second graduate student. She became one of his assistants along with her late husband, Keller Breland. Marian and Keller worked on the WW2 project PELICAN, where pigeons were trained to guide bombs. Marian clicker trained her first dog in 1943!) Bob was the US Navy's dolphin project's first Director of Training. Jean Donaldson has, in my opinion, written the “Bible of Dog Training” it is called The Culture Clash. Jean also has a CD about dog training and is planning a sequel to Culture Clash for release in Nov. 1998.
